Our family of three stayed at the Manava Beach Resort & Spa - Moorea for three nights. We had a fabulous time during our stay! When we arrived for our 2:00pm check-in, we were greeted warmly and were given a tour of the property. As our bags were being brought to the bungalow, we were offered a welcome drink in the bar. Our “Premium Over Water Bungalow - Lagoon View” was amazing! We had unobstructed panoramic views of the aqua colored water off of our back deck and were able to jump into the water to snorkel. The room was very nicely appointed, comfortable and spacious with a large bathroom. It was nice to have a small fridge in the room and a coffee/tea area was available as well as daily housekeeping. It was so much fun to look down through the glass coffee table to the reef below to see all the brightly colored fish swim by. The gorgeous infinity pool on the property is very large and and affords wonderful views of the bungalows and the ocean. Resort amenities include equipment for paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling and ping pong. On site is also dive shop where you can learn to dive or go out on a dive boat for the more seasoned diver. Located around the pool is a wonderful, casual bar area as well as a more upscale restaurant. Happy Hour is 5 - 7 each day in the bar area. There is also a Polynesian show each Saturday night. There was never a problem getting a lounge chair by the pool. The snorkeling at the resort around the coral reef was fantastic! We saw a shark, a small octopus, a spiny star fish, sea urchins, turtles, parrot fish and so much more. Check-out is at 11:00am but our flight was in the evening. We were able to stay at the resort and use all of the amenities until it was time to depart by taxi to the ferry. We booked the shower room to use which is a nice benefit. This is true if you check-in early as well. We took an excellent 6-hour Snorkel & Lunch excursion with Moorea Miti Tours.

The location on the island is great. Very close ( walkable ) to the grocery store and a few other restaurants. Buy some of the local juices and alcohol juice mixes and local beer for your in room frig to enjoy on you own deck. We ended up eating the majority of our meals at the resort. Breakfast was included for our stay and was good. We enjoyed the made to order omelets each morning and all the fresh fruit and pastries. Previous reviews complained about the staff and food in the dining room , but we disagree completely! Everyone was wonderful and the food was delicious. We had a wide variety of items from the menu and thought everything was prepared well and tasted great. I can’t think of one encounter with the resort staff that was not really good. Thank you Manava staff! Wednesday evening was the Polynesian dancers performance. We enjoyed that. Our beach front bungalow was lovely and we very much enjoyed sitting on our front porch and enjoying the view out to the over the water bungalows and outer ocean. We were located on the right side of the resort as you look to the water. Good location as it is a bit quieter on that side. The pool area and pool are lovely. The snorkeling out along the Oceanside of the OWB units is very nice. Especially over by the public dock side. We saw a large variety of beautiful fish along the coral and even a turtle. We also used the complementary kayaks to paddle out to the gorgeous turquoise water out in the lagoon. We had a couple very windy , cloudy days during our stay that were unfortunate but then the sun came out and wow! It’s so gorgeous. One day we rented a car from Alberts right across the street from the resort. Very easy and reasonable. It was fun to explore the island on our own. No worries about getting lost! The road just circles the island. Pretty stops along the way. The Rotui juice factory with free samples is a fun stop.

The hotel is at a decent price point for an over the water bungalow. Even my island tour guide commented that I made a good compromise. I booked one over the water bungalow and one room that was next to the beach. The one next to the beach, unfortunately, has tons of mosquitoes. So my suggestion is to book one that is over the water. We saw dolphins swimming in the ocean just by going outside the room, it was great. They provide kayaks and snorkeling gear for free. This hotel is 5 mins away from "town", there is a bank, restaurants and some shops there and a super market, so very convenient. However, they all closed early on 12/24 and not opened on 12/25. The pool was nice as well. I would stay here again if I come to Moorea again. The front desk young lady was super nice. She was kind of the only one smiling all the time. The other staff (her manager) at the front desk does not seem to be smiling at all.

They welcomed us with a big smile. We were there at 12 noon and they cleaned the room so fast so they can accommodate us for early check-in. It was hot and we have 2 babies so we really appreciated it. The property is close to manui grill and maitai restaurant which are both popular for dining and for a good price. I liked it that it’s closed to everything, downtown and breakfast spots and even grocery store if you need something. We stayed at premium water bungalows and they gave us tahitian pearl as a gift and a botte of champagne with macarons! We loved it! Staffs were really nice, clean rooms (they even called us to what time we wanted our room to be cleaned.) The bungalow has a small glass bottom so you can see the fishes at night. My daughter loves it! We ate at tiki bar for happy hour and it was really good. We tried the mahanai restaurant too from my birthday dinner and food was great!

Staff is mostly nice, some were snobbish. The room was very clean and comfortable. Toiletries are free and plentiful. Pool is super warm and you can enjoy the many amazing views from it. You can see fish from the decks, there is a lot of fish around, beautiful location and gorgeous views. Snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding can be done for free. Not crowded ever. Some coffee/cream is provided daily. Kettle and fridge are available in each room. AC works great. There is a tiny gym. Anthony and Baptiste were very helpful. Supermarket where you can find anything you need nearby, 3-minute walk, accept CC. Plenty of activities you can book ($) at the hotel. Two restaurants next to the hotel where you can try their local food, accept CC. Locals are extremely nice and always want to help you.
